April 18-19, 2013: Expert Commissions and Migration Policy Making

Thursday, April 18, 2013, UC Davis
Friday, April 19, 2013, UC Berkeley

The purpose of this conference is to explore the use of expert commissions to provide advice and/or to establish quotas for the number of foreign workers to admit, especially at the top and bottom of the labor market. Speakers and discussants explore the promises and pitfalls of independent expert commissions to help determine migrant admissions for economic purposes. The papers will be posted at Migration Dialogue and published in Migration Letters.
